President Barack Obama has received a critical endorsement in his 2012 re-election campaign: Snoop. Speaking at a panel at the Toronto International Film Festival late last week, Snoop Lion, the rapper and actor formerly known as Snoop Dogg, laid out what GQ described as an "oddly compelling"—albeit expletive-filled—argument for keeping Obama in the White House. "We need to give Obama four more years," Snoop said at the conference. "Bush fucked up for eight years, so you gotta at least give him eight years. He cleaned half the shit up in four years." More insight from the Doggfather:
Obama is not the only candidate in the 2012 presidential race to receive a hip-hop endorsement. Earlier this month, Nicki Minaj contributed a surprising verse to a new Lil Wayne mixtape. On it, she sings, "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy bitches are fucking up the economy." On Monday, though, Minaj tweeted that she was being sarcastic.
