Hip-hop diva rap artist Lil'' Kim, aka Kimberly Jones 29, who was sentenced to a year in jail earlier this week, will at least have the rest of the summer to get her personal affairs in order. The rap artist must turn herself in by 2pm on September 19th to start serving her sentence. Lil’ Kim must also pay $50,000 in fines for her lying to a grand jury, and will serve 2 years probation when she is released from custody. The hip-hop diva had faced up to 20 years in jail on three counts of perjury and one count of conspiracy. Lil’ Kim has already released the official first single from her next album, ‘The Naked Truth’. Of course it is a diss type track aimed at individuals who did not support her and her lies during the trial. Lil’ Kim also has federal tax problems to resolve. She owed the Internal Revenue Service nearly $1 million in taxes while she was living the ‘bling life’. Among other things she forgot to tell the IRS that she owned about $450,000 in diamond jewelry, instead she claimed it was worth only about $49,000. But at least Lil’ Kim will have the rest of the summer to try to resolve these other issues before she starts serving her sentence in September. |
