Political Action Committee to Reveal and Correct Discrimination in Florida's Largest and Most Diverse School District Multi platinum Miami rap artist, Trick Daddy, the top selling rap artist for Slip-n-Slide records, announced today that he is throwing his support to Concerned Citizens of Miami-Dade County Schools (www.ccfmds.com). The Miami-based political action committee formed after a number of hotly contested school board seat races ended in a run-off election scenario. This is a county already accustom to allegations of racial discrimination in a state that will take the national stage on Election Day. "I live here, and I see what goes on in the schools. We have racists trying to buy seats on our school boards," explained Trick Daddy. "Kids don''t have new books, so I guess it's our job to not elect crooks. Crooks, because they rob kids of the tools and rules they need to get ahead and survive the system that failed a lot of my friends." Concern Citizens for Miami-Dade County Schools will dedicate all of its efforts on elections that will benefit all children, not just children of privilege. Concerned Citizens is committed to ending the socio-economic imbalance in Miami-Dade Schools. The PAC will also emphasize the importance of voter turnout, not just registration. "Registering to vote is like only finishing 50% of your homework; showing up on Election Day is the other 50%," stressed Ted Lucas, CEO of Slip-n-Slide Records. "Failing to vote on Election Day fails the entire community and we are proud to have artists on this label that want to help in their own backyard!" Concerned Citizens for Miami-Dade County School is a Tallahassee, FL registered political action committee (PAC); for more information visit www.ccfmds.com. |
