Recently we ran a story about Herman Bell, a former Black Panther, one of the NY3 and political prisoner. That story has touched the hearts of many in the hip-hop community, as we received many emails wanting to know Mr. Bell’s address so that people could write him with words of support and encouragement. Herman Bell, like so many others, was driven underground and became part of the Black Liberation Army; because the FBI targeted the Black Panther Party and community leaders for neutralization and elimination. Herman Bell has been imprisoned for the past 32 years. He is scheduled to re-appear before the New York State Parole Board in February 2006 for the second time since the inception of his state sentence. Support for his release is being sought and many in the hip-hop community are answering and are interested in this brother’s struggle. If you would like to write Herman Bell with words of support and encouragement his address is: Herman Bell #79C0262, Eastern Correctional Facility, Box 338, Napanoch, NY 12458-0338 Many addresses of political prisoners including Herman Bell can be found on the Jericho Movement website. All political prisoners need to have encouragement and support because some days, dark days look darker and it is always good to know that you are not forgotten.
