The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation (TASF) and The Mablean Ephriam Foundation have come together to host the annual Honoring Unsung Fathers (H.U.F.) Awards and Brunch, a celebration that recognizes nurturing father-figures who play a vital role in their children’s everyday lives. A call for nominations is underway for the Father’s Day-themed event, which will take place at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 10th at the Omni Hotel at the CNN Center in Atlanta, GA.

Established to bring attention and recognition to everyday fathers who maintain a lifestyle that exemplifies love toward their children, family and community, the H.U.F. Awards reflects the TASF’s spirit and vision and is also the brainchild of Judge Mablean Ephriam.

Afeni Shakur, mother of the late hip hop icon and rapper Tupac Shakur (2Pac) and founder and CEO of the TASF is proud to partner with the Mablean Ephriam Foundation to present the 2nd Annual H.U.F. Awards.

“It is very important for us all to make an effort to stress the importance of fatherhood in our society.” Afeni says. “We need to recognize those fathers who go the extra mile in helping their children be successful. Our hearts are always touched by the efforts of these responsible men who are positive role-models for their children. This special event is our way of celebrating these fathers.”

The 2007 H.U.F. Award nominations are open to positive fathers and father-figures who make unique efforts to play an active role in their childrens’ development. Although there is one winner for each category, every nominated father who attends the gala will be recognized.

Nomination forms can be downloaded from www.hufawards.com  www.tasf.org  or contact Mr. Tre’Mayne (Tre’) Maxie at 404-298-2227.  All nomination forms must be submitted and completed by Friday, May 11, 2007 at 12 p.m.

“I am so grateful for the opportunity to extend love to these remarkable men,” says Judge Mablean. “If you know a father that loves and respects his wife or is dedicated to his children, take a moment to nominate them for a 2007 H.U.F. Award.

Five awards will be presented during the 2007 H.U.F. Awards to a single father (Solo Warrior), married father (Love Cares), divorced father (Fatherhood Forever), non-biological father (Village Dad) and a senior father (Living Legacy).

The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation and the Mablean Ephriam Foundation are both dedicated to encouraging responsible and nurturing parents and recognizing them for successful accomplishments in the field of fatherhood.
