The following is coverage of the 2006 National Hip-Hop Political Convention in Chicago, from Breakdown FM Radio and hip-hop historian, journalist and activist Davey D. Hip-hop activists, hip-hop artists and members of Chicago’s Black Journalist Association tackle the issues ‘What is hip-hop & where is it going politically?’

This engaging panel discussion took place Wednesday July 19th before a packed house at the NBC Tower in downtown Chicago. Most of the people in the audience were members of Chi-Town’s media and journalism community.

A variety of issues were discussed ranging from the state of Hip Hop, Its relationship to politics, the role of women in Hip Hop and many others..
