The National Black United Front (NBUF) will convene its’ 1st Black Unity Hop Hip Movement Sunday, January 16th & 17th 2011 in Philadelphia PA. The purpose of the event is to use the medium of hip hop to educate the black youth about community service & how to take economic, political & social control of the resources in their communities. The event will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 16, 2011, at The Arts Garage located at 1515 Ridge Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19130. NBUF National Vice Chairperson Salim Adofo will facilitate a panel discussion regarding safe sex and hip hop. Panel participants will include community organization Blacks Educating Blacks About Sexual Health Issues (BEBASHI), local hip hop artists and other field experts. Following the panel discussion, will be the “Black Unity Hip Hop Showcase” hosted by “Youseeme.” On Monday, January 17, 2011 at 12pm NBUF will conduct its’ Ujima Food and Clothing Drive at the intersection of Germantown and Chelten Avenues in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. Donations are being collected from area schools and businesses, and will be provided to those in need. Remaining donations will be taken to the Covenant House, a homeless shelter for children. NBUF is broad-based organization that includes all social, political, religious and cultural groups in the Black Community. It is composed of concerned and committed individuals and organizations that have united to assume responsibility for leading the struggle toward a better life for them and their children.
