The National Black United Front - Houston Chapter (NBUF) has been involved in an ongoing effort to raise $25,000.00 to meet financial obligations for their building. The Need Is Immediate & Pressing. Since the campaign kick off they have raised approximately $10,000. Through the strong community support in Houston and across the country they have been able to meet this milestone over the past several weeks the organization has been dealing with legal proceedings to negotiate for more time to meet various financial obligations. During the past 25 years, the Houston Chapter has worked tirelessly in the Black/African community locally, nationally and internationally. The all volunteer membership has been dedicated and unyielding in it's commitment to serve for countless major issues, programs, causes, events, actions and opportunities. From 1995-1997 the members put in 40,000 volunteer hours in changing the substance and face of our community by renovating a former drug den into their headquarters. Today, they need your help in continuing to stand strong on the principle of Self-Determination and serve our community. Their next public fundraising event is Sat. February 5, 2005
