Cynthia McKinney is a strong advocate, mentor and supporter of the Hip-Hop community. Her unique popularity among the members of the Hip-Hop generation and young people across the United States of America has made her a trusted voice on behalf of producers, retailers and consumers of Hip-Hop entertainment. She believes that the Hip-Hop community has the potential to evolve into one of the strongest movements on behalf of social justice and community development. Congresswoman McKinney is responsible for special outreach to the Hip Hop community and supports their efforts to run for office and become policymakers for today and tomorrow. She has also introduced the legislation for the current house bill. H.R. 4968, the Tupac Shakur Records Release Act, (2Pac).

Many in the hip-hop community are familiar with the name Cynthia McKinney, Georgia State Representative Cynthia McKinney; aka Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney. She is well known by the many things she does not only for the hip-hop community but for her contributions in many areas.

In recent news reports Congresswoman McKinney has been attacked and her name has been drug thru the mud by some over an incident of an ‘alleged assault’ on a US Capitol Police Officer.

In a decision today a District of Columbia Superior Court grand jury has declined to return an indictment in the case of that ‘alleged assault’ by Georgia Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of United States Capitol Police Officer Paul McKenna, United States Attorney Kenneth L. Wainstein has announced

This decision by the grand jury, otherwise known as a no true bill or a finding of no probable cause, follows an extensive and thorough grand jury investigation by the United States Attorney's Office and the U.S. Capitol Police Department regarding the incident between the officer and Congresswoman McKinney, which occurred on March 29, 2006, at the Longworth Office Building.

United States Attorney Wainstein stated, "We respect the decision of the grand jury in this difficult matter, and we thank its members for their hard work and careful consideration of the evidence and testimony." U.S. Attorney Wainstein added that, "Members of Congress are fortunate to have the protection and the service of one of the finest police forces in the country. We ask the U.S. Capitol Police to protect our Capitol and to do so in a way that minimizes disruption and makes all feel welcome. This is a tremendously difficult job, and it is one that Officer McKenna and his colleagues perform with the utmost professionalism and dignity."

This decision by the grand jury concludes the investigation of this incident.
