Hip Hop Word radio show is on Philadelphia's only Black Talk Radio station 900 AM WURD. You don''t have to live in Philly to listen, log onto 900amwurd.com and if you want to call-in for questions and comments dial 1-866-361-0900.
This week the guests on the show include legendary Hip Hop pioneer Paradise Gray, one of the founders of X-Clan and the Black Watch Movement. He will be joined by hip hop MC and activist Jasiri X (known for his Jena 6 and Sean Bell songs).
Also, Paul Porter of Industry Ears will talk about his research and activism regarding the music and media industries. During that same segment we will hear from Apostle. He is a community organizer and the artist who brought you the song Destroy the Industry.
At the top of the 8:00 hour don''t miss our segment on the crack down on "Saggy Pants" in Flint Michigan and other parts of the United States.
We will be joined by Mark Fancher of the Michigan ACLU, and also Natasha "Theory" Thomas Founder & Executive Director for RAISE IT UP! Youth Arts and Awareness. She is also a member of the National Hip Hop Political Convention Local Organizing Committee in Flint, Michigan. She will be joined by Nayyirah Sharriff, the president of the Genesee County Young Democrats & and board member for the Michigan Democratic Party's Youth Caucus.
We will hear a brief weekly Holistic Health tip from Maat Maakheru & the Kemetic Corner by our elder Heri Khafra.
Last, but not least, do not miss Kymone Freeman of the D.C. Black Luv Festival as he gives his weekly special report on issues that affect people worldwide at the end of the show.
