As with every Tupac album security is always a top priority. However, where the breach occurs the most is when a finished album is sent to the pressing and distribution plant for mass reproduction. Unfortunately, Tupac’s albums are no different. However, the factor that differentiates Amaru from all others is that Tupac’s fans are completely intolerant of this bootlegging and piracy! In fact, it was all of you, Tupac’s fans, that ‘tipped’ us off to the album leak on the Internet. You are Tupac’s extended family. Bootlegging is something that Tupac had always had to deal with. Ever since the very first album, 2Pacalypse Now. There is actual footage of Tupac in New York City in the early 1990’s removing all his tapes, (CDs didn’t even exist at this point), from the table of a street merchant while explaining to the merchant that he was stealing from Tupac’s pocket. Tupac goes on to explain that the merchant was taking money that did not belong to him for a product that Tupac put his HIS blood, sweat, and tears into! The reality of today’s music industry is that Internet piracy and bootlegging runs rampant like a plague but despite all this, we should never forget what is wrong versus what is right. At 3:00am Saturday morning this past weekend, we started to receive an over whelming amount of emails from all of you- Tupac’s fans and extended family-alerting us to the fact that our new album, Loyal to the Game had been leaked on the Internet. It is your undying loyalty to Tupac and your undying devotion to carrying out his legacy in a respectful manner –that gave us enough warning to take measures to insure an early release of our album. We do not have exact release date as of yet, but know that you will be among the first to be informed of the new release date. Please keep abreast of any new information via this website. Afeni Shakur has financed the investigation and the shutting down of bootleg operations concerning Tupac’s music all over the world since 1996. Much of the information that is gathered by Amaru is through you-the fans. For this, we are ever so grateful. As you know, we are trying to construct the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, Georgia and portions of all our proceeds are donated to our cause. Every single cent counts. That is why you must continue to fight the battle of illegal downloading of Tupac’s music. Tupac had always said that he ‘could not do any of this without his fans’ and today is no different! Thank you for your love, thank you for your devotion, thank you for your protective spirits, and for always being Loyal To The Game…and to being ‘loyal to Tupac…’ Peace, Love, and Respect Always- Amaru Entertainment, Inc.
