The foundation of the late hip hop icon 2Pac; The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, will be hosting a Sports & Entertainment Foundation's Coalition (SEFC) mixer on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at 7:00PM at the Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts in Stone Mountain, GA. The Mixer is free and open to the public. Teens are encouraged to attend with their families.

Along with the Dallas Austin Foundation, TASF welcomes Atlanta area Foundations to come together to network and build a strong coalition among their students and programs. The aim of the Coalition of Foundations will be to support each other by advertising one another's programming, referring participants to each other based on the individual areas of focus, and support one another through sponsorship opportunities. In addition, students from each Foundation will have the chance to talk about issues affecting them and how they think the consortium can best serve them.

Foundations from all over the greater Atlanta area have already championed the Consortium and pledged their support. The Foundations of platinum selling hip hop recording artists like Usher, Big Boi, Lisa Lopes, and Ludacris have confirmed their involvement, along with sports icons, DeAngelo Hall, Michael Vick, Warrick Dunn, Dikembe Motumbo, and TJ Dukett. Other participants include the Mablean Ephriam Foundation, WVEE's Frank Ski Foundation, Falcon's Owner & Home Depot Founder's Arthur Blank Foundation, Lisa Cremin of the Atlanta Coalition of Foundations, and God's Child Foundation.

The Tupac Amaru Shakur Center for the Arts is located in Stone Mountain, Georgia and includes a Visitor Center and a Peace Garden dedicated to violence prevention and conflict resolution. The Center hosts a Camp called PACKid's for young people ages 12-18 who would like to enhance their lives through the performing arts. The students not only learn skills in the performing arts, but social topics such as peer mediation, anti-violence, leadership, communication, and basic business skills. Since the Center's inception eight years ago, over 500 students have benefited from the program and to date, PACKid's have appeared on CNN, BET, VH-1, "Good Day Atlanta," Georgia NAACP Freedom Fund Gala, Source Youth Foundation, and performed with Regina Bell. The students write and produce an annual theatrical show called "Shoulders Of Giants" and 2007 plans include performing at the prestigious Harlem Theatre and at the VH-1 "Save the Music Battle of the Bands" in Los Angeles.
