The Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation, founded by Afeni Shakur the mother of hip hop icon Tupac Shakur (2Pac), is heading to California by expanding the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the LEADERSHIP & ARTS CAMP to Oakland, and Los Angeles, California in the Summer 2008. Many notables of hip hop culture such as Jasmine Guy, Ashanti, Lou Gossett, Vivica Fox, Marshal Mathers (aka hip hop artist Eminem), T.I., Tyrese, Chocolate, Mike Epps and many others have worked with the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation on projects that benefit students at the Foundation. Students receive instruction in acting, creative writing, dance, vocal training, set and stage design, video production and the business of entertainment. The camp also stresses literacy, responsibility, and conflict resolution. The camp experience comes to a dramatic climax with a full theatrical production at the end of the Camp session.
