The International Association of African American Music Foundation is a sixteen year old, Pennsylvania based non-profit advocacy organization dedicated to the promotion and preservation of Black music and culture worldwide.

On Saturday, September 24 music and film celebrities will join the International Association of African American Music Foundation to host a fundraiser luncheon to benefit New Orleans Hurricane Katrina Victims from 11:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at New York City’s Negril Village restaurant, 70 W. Third Street (between Thompson Street and LaGuardia Place).

The star-studded event will feature artists from hip-hop, rap, gospel, R&B and jazz such as Jill Scott, TI, Pretty Ricky, Roy Ayers, Jean Carne, Slum Village, producer Young Lord, actor Michael Ealy (Their Eyes Were Watching God), NYC radio personality, Egypt (Power 105), and author Teri Woods mixing, mingling and serving lunch to guest donors. There will also be a silent and live auction featuring celebrity-donated items. Up for grabs at the auction will be a Grand Bahamas Island vacation featuring roundtrip coach airfare, two-nights hotel accommodations and VIP tickets and backstage passes to Kool & the Gang’s concert performance; a personalized voicemail message sung by Will Downing; songwriting lessons and an autographed CD from Grammy winning songwriter Gordon Chambers; private makeup lessons from makeup artist to the stars Nzingha; an autographed skateboard from Dirty Ghetto Kids star Stevie Williams; and art from Philadelphia’s renowned October Gallery.

Additional auction items include donations from Destiny’s Child, Jaguar Wright, E. Lynn Harris, Musiq and Eric Benet, and gift packs from Atlantic, Sony, Jive, and other supporting record labels. Event attendance donations are $25 at the door and $25 for lunch. Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit a local New Orleans Grassroots Organization.
