This being The Games’s debut album it is only right to look at the man along with the new cd.

Rap artist Game is Compton born and raised, a member of the Bloods, and has been shot 5 times and that put him in a coma.

A member of the Bloods and does not hide or deny it. But he also can be seen in the company of Crip members and that shows he is loyal but willing to get along for the greater good of all. I have even seen a picture of him with a red rag on one wrist and a blue rag on the other wrist.

So we have a man who has true street creditability, who is loyal and remembers where he is from. So far that alone separates him from over 75% of the rappers out today.

His debut album "The Documentary" has drawn a lot of hype so right away I was a little skeptical, but the tracks I did hear were very good. So the time came for the entire listen of the album that has received all the hype. Would it live up to its hype? Would it be a real west coast sounding album from a west coast artist or just another over hyped debut cd from an artist we will hear once and that will be that?

Well I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The music the lyrics the beats are all very good.

Top production helps this album come together and the featured artist only help emphasize The Games skills.

There is that presence of G-Unit in the sound but it is not overbearing to the point where Game gets lost or is outside of his own. Nothing is ‘carrying’ Game except his own skills and they are tight.

This release elevates the entire playing field. Soon and in the coming months there will be a lot of movement, as hip-hop and rap artist are going to be scrambling to find their place in the new order of things. Game’s debut album makes him the new kid on the block and the kid has talent.

The different featured artist on the cd show and lend to the range of Games abilities. There was one song that maybe did not fit into the album well and that is the joint ‘We Ain’t’.

To sit and give each track a different rating would really take away from the album. There are so many different producers and featured artists that if you start dissecting it track by track the cd would loose out because it blends as a unit.

On a 1 to 10 rating ‘The Game – The Documentary’ receives 8.5.

The copy I got from Interscope did not have the DVD, so you’re on your own there. You let me know how it is, since Interscope didn’t care what we thought about it.

But all in all yes The Game ‘The Documentary’ was worth the hype. Check it out; I don’t think you will be dis-appointed.
