If you are one of those who thought true female hip hop rap artist where a thing of the past; you were wrong. Allow me to introduce Lust, not that strong sexual desire that seems to get us all in trouble but L.U.S.T., meaning ‘Last Undisputed to Spit Truth’. Born and raised in Oakland, CA this Lady has the gift to combine the Bay Area game she was born with, with introspective views on life. Part of Ms. Lust’s hustle has been the series of mixtapes she put out featuring all female artist called “Chocolate Mommi Mafia Mixtapes”, named after the movement of independent female artist she is helping to lead. When asked what has inspired her to take on such a movement she states “It’s time for female artist to step the game up and take control of all aspects of our career or we will never shine like we’re supposed to”. Her latest release “The Po’ Black Woman Act”, which is a street album/mixtape is already making noise on the West Coast Underground. Lust is also a producer and studio engineer and produced six songs on her new release. Look out for this girl she is definitely raising the bar for female artists in the game.
