The politically charged rap duo Dead Prez is in hot water with the National Conference of Black Mayors. Black mayors from across the country are meeting in Columbus, Ohio for their 31st Annual National Conference. The hip-hop rap artists, Sticman and M-1, recently performed in front of teenagers at the organization's annual convention in Columbus, Ohio. The convention's executive director Vanessa Williams says the MCs violated a written contract to leave out profanity when they performed. Williams says the hip-hop group will be held accountable and she would like for them to make a public apology to the students who attended the event and the organization. Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman says he had no input on who would be speaking at the event and blasted the performance, calling it an outrage. |
