Rap artist, and half of the super hip-hop group Outkast, Big Boi is readying the first release on his Purple Ribbon Entertainment label. A new album from rapper Killer Mike will be out Aug. 30 through Columbia Records. Killer Mike's first album, 2003's "Monster," came out on OutKast's now-defunct Aquemini Records. Big Boi’s new label was originally a joint project with OutKast partner Andre 3000, but Big Boi told Billboard, "He was like, ''It's kind of a headache having a label."'' Next out from the Purple Ribbon Entertainment label will be a Virgin-distributed release from white Atlanta rap artist Bubba Sparxxx, who was formerly on Interscope. Other Purple Ribbon acts include Sleepy Brown (who was featured on the OutKast single "The Way You Move"), Konkrete and Star. |
