Bay area Hip Hop Ambassador, E-40, recently joined Humboldt County California’s Potluck in the studio to record the super hot hip hop track “U Ain’t That Fine” for Potluck’s recently released Suburban Noize Records debut, “Straight Outta Humboldt,” which landed in stores September 19, 2006. The news of the collaboration comes on the heels of E-40’s latest album, "My Ghetto Report Card," being certified gold with sales of upwards of 500,000 in the U.S. Executive produced by Lil'' Jon, the album debuted at #1 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Charts and #3 on Billboard 200 Chart, with the help of the lead single "Tell Me When 2 Go," featuring hip hop luminary Keak Da Sneak. “Recording a song and doing shows with E-40 was a humbling experience,” says Potluck’s 1 Ton. “E-40 was an artist that I grew up listening to, so for him to know who Potluck is and want to work with us was amazing. We both represent the 707 and had a good time making that song. I hope the fans like it.” In addition to E-40’s appearance on the record, “Straight Outta Humboldt” also features hip hop and rap figures such as Chali 2NA of Jurassic 5, E-40, The Luniz, Tech N9ne, Kottonmouth Kings and Twiztid. The album is the follow-up to the group’s critically acclaimed independent release “Harvest Time,” which sold in excess of 20,000 copies without the support of a label. For the last decade, Potluck has built a well-deserved reputation as the premiere hip hop rap group in Humboldt County and one of the more promising young talents to emerge from Northern California’s legendary and organic independent hip-hop scene. The group’s “do it yourself” attitude has allowed them to release three successful independent albums, tour the US countless times over and collaborate Tech N9ne, E-40, The Mystik Journeymen, and Equpito, building a dedicated following of fans in the process.
