Silkski

Rap artist Silkski, aka the Don of All Dons Silk Corleone, of Wu Tang Clan’s Brooklyn Zu, makes his way to El Paso, Feb. 18, for the next leg of his whirlwind tour. Silkski will take center stage with Bad Boy artist G-Dep at Speaking Rock Casino for the post-Valentine’s Day concert Mi Amore, presented by Crooked State Entertainment and Nebula. “I love coming to El Paso, because they really seem to appreciate hip hop,” Silkski reminisced of his last performance there in 2000, when he also appeared on KTSM 9 NBC’s morning television show. Mi Amore will also feature artists from Bad Boy Records and other local area talent. DJ Pooh 1 from Power 102 KPPR FM will broadcast live from the casino during the show. Gentlemen are urged to bring their ladies, as roses will be handed out. Doors will open at 8 p.m., and the show begins at 9 p.m. For ticketing information and reservations, call 646-335-3036.

2004 was a very busy year in deed for Silkski, as he headlined numerous sold out shows in such cities as Phoenix, Ariz., and Denver and Ft. Collins, Colo. He also made his way across the globe for gigs in The Czech Republic, Russia, Germany and Italy. Last July, Silkski hit the mic with Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who passed away in November, and the rest of the Wu Tang family for Guerilla Union Rock the Bells in San Bernadino, Calif. Not to forget, Silkski played some wild performances with RZA and Ghostface Killah at Club Utopia and with Ice T at Key Club in Los Angeles. He appeared on BET’s Access Granted, which went behind the scenes of Ghost Face Killah’s music video featuring RZA and Missy Elliot. In 2003, Silkski appeared in the VH1 special Inside/Out: ODB on Parole.

Silkski is well-known for his affiliation with Wu Tang’s Brooklyn Zu, Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s posse. Silkski’s solo album End of Days from Wu Tang Management’s Protect-Ya-Neck Records is expected to debut in the coming months. Singles from the album including No Money, The Don of All Dons and Ready for War will also be released on the E-P titled 24-8 Tha E-P, and can be heard at www.protect-ya-neck.com. “Rest in Peace,” Silkski said of the late ODB. “Wu Tang Forever!”
