Hip-hop and rap superstars Snoop Dogg, Diddy, Nelly, Luke Campbell, Trick Daddy and others today announced the Inaugural Battle of the Stars Youth Football Classic, an upcoming charity football event featuring celebrity coached youth football teams from around the country. The Battle of the Stars Youth Football Classic will feature four exciting youth football games, with each team being coached by a celebrity. The game will be played on Saturday, January 14th, 2006 at Dolphins Stadium, and is expected to draw over 15,000 fans. All of the artists participating have been very involved with youth football in their respective areas, and have long been debating whose team is the best. That debate will finally be settled in the Battle of the Stars Youth Football Classic, as teams from New York, Los Angels, St. Louis, Atlanta and Miami will all do battle on the field to see what part of the country truly plays the best football! The first three games of the day will feature 10 & 11 year old teams, featuring the Mount Vernon Razorbacks, coached by Diddy, facing off against the Snoop Dogg All-Stars from Los Angeles; Nelly’s St. Louis All-Stars taking on Trick Daddy’s Overtown Rattlers out of Miami; the Staten Island Hurricanes, coached by Tone of the Trackmasters against the Atlanta based Pacman Titans, coached by Tennessee Titans 1st round pick Pacman Jones. The nightcap of the event will feature a game of 12 & 13 year olds and Luke Campbell’s Liberty City Warriors, the newly crowned Pop Warner National Champions, taking on Snoop Dogg’s 12&13 year old All-Stars. The Battle of the Stars Youth Football Classic will raise money for various charities, including the Snoop Youth Football Foundation, which provides kids in inner-city Los Angeles the opportunity to participate in youth football, In addition to the game, it was announced that there will be special performances throughout the day. Tickets are $10 and are on sale through all Ticketmaster outlets, as well as the Dolphins Stadium box office. The event will begin at 11 a.m. on January 14th, and run until approximately 8:30 p.m. Axcess Sports & Entertainment is managing the event.
