Jennifer Lopez Six years after breaking into the music business with "On the 6," Jennifer Lopez is still amazed she has a recording career. "I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would even be doing this this long. I mean, you just feel lucky to make one record in this business," the 35-year-old singer and actress told Associated Press TV. Lopez sees her fifth album, "Rebirth," as a new chapter in her life. "I really feel like this is kind of like phase two, the beginning of a different phase for me. You know, I made my first album and I did a bunch of movie projects and four albums — I never stopped," she said. Lopez capped this busy period, which included a hectic personal life that included her second marriage and divorce and high-profile relationships with hip-hop rap artist P. Diddy and Ben Affleck, by taking several months off before restarting her career in recent weeks. The career re-launch has drawn mixed reviews. New York Fashion Week's discerning crowds cheered her clothing label's first show in February, but days later she got a chilly response to her duet with husband Marc Anthony at the Grammy Awards. But Lopez said she feels rejuvenated by diving into work after a period of rest. "I felt like the same girl. You know what happens when you take time off? You kind of get back to who you were." |
