Jim Belushi and Dan Aykroyd arrived on Harley motorcycles and hammed it up with a performance of "Sweet Home Chicago" at the opening of the newest House of Blues in a renovated storefront. Belushi and Aykroyd arrived at the House of Blues Sunday night wearing black leather coats and escorted Mayor Jane Campbell into the concert and restaurant complex. More than 2,000 people turned out for the gala opening.
Aykroyd is a board member of the House of Blues, which also operates clubs in seven other cities. Belushi is the younger brother of deceased Blues Brothers co-founder John Belushi.
Aykroyd and Belushi wore black suits, white shirts, black ties and black fedoras for the evening's finale as the Blues Brothers and opened their set with "Sweet Home Chicago."
The club has a 1,200-seat performance hall, a 300-seat restaurant and six bars, according to the AP. 8 House of Blues club venues nationally. Locations include Anaheim, Chicago, Cleveland, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, New Orleans, Orlando and Sunset Strip. New club venues scheduled to open include San Diego, Atlantic City, and Detroit. House of Blues Concerts, Inc. owns, operates or exclusively books arena and amphitheatre venues throughout North America, including locations in Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Dallas, Austin, Seattle (The Gorge), Atlanta, Cleveland, Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. They present all areas of music, including rap, hip hop, and rock n'' roll.
