The make-up artist who claimed rap artist Snoop Dogg and his entourage drugged and raped her after a TV talk show two years ago has dropped her legal action against the hip-hop rapper.

The woman had claimed she was assaulted after a recording of the Jimmy Kimmel Live show on the ABC network in 2003.

But her attorney has asked a judge to dismiss the case "with prejudice" - meaning it cannot now be revived.

Rap artist Snoop Dogg has simultaneously dropped a counter legal action filed against the make-up artist.

The make-up artist had claimed she was drugged with spiked champagne before being raped and sexually assaulted.

Snoop Dogg - real name Calvin Broadus - responded by claiming she had tried to extort $5mil. from him, threatening to sell her story to a tabloid.

Court papers said he had "reluctantly" made payments to her "in the perhaps naive hope" she would desist with her allegations.

Snoops spokeswoman, Meredith O'sullivan, did not give details of the deal that ended the litigation.

However, she said her client's accuser had received "absolutely no money in the settlement".

In a statement, the make-up artist said the matter had been "resolved amicably".

No criminal charges were ever brought against any party.
