Hip-hop activists have been in the trenches long before the phrase "Vote or Die" was coined.  The real movement has been bubbling from coast to coast; in chat rooms, on campuses at local battles and on wax.

Unlike mc's who borrow the podium, Hip-hop veterans and KRS-One proteges Channel Live have maintained a committment to activism and change in and out of the industry's glare.  Every real head remembers when the duo's platinum selling single "Mad Izm" was THE New York anthem that banged hard everywhere from the mixtape circuit to the clubs. They followed that with the gold-status album "Station Identification" in 1995. That year also saw the release of the classic 12"s "Sex for Sport" and "Reprogram". Now re-emerging with an unapologetically gritty sound and a "buck the system" message, Channel Live resurrects hip-hop's heyday of hardcore, social consciousness.

Their first 12-inch single in nearly three years through indie hip-hop powerhouse Brick Records, proves that "the message" remains at their core of their music.  Side A features "Mr. President", a controversial expose of the corrupt policies that power the Bush administration.  "Fuck Dat" is a haunting, Mike City produced street anthem that reminds us that the revolution is by no means dead.  After a December 1st impact date, the single was the #1 most added release at both rapattacklives.com and rapnetwork.com, indie hip-hop's most important internet charts.

"Mr. President" / "Fuck Dat" are available now on vinyl through ughh.com, sandbox.pair.com, hiphopsite.com and brickrecords.com.
