Oakland CA - April 30th - Epps recipient at Malcolm X Conference, Concert & Awards

Kevin Epps has been invited to be a special guest lecturer at SF State's CÉSAR E. CHÁVEZ PUBLIC POLICY INSTITUTE for the Hip Hop, Globalization, and the Politics of Identity course. Professors Shawn Ginwright and A.A. Akom in collaboration with KPFA’s Hardknock Radio will be presenting Epps & screening his film Straight Outta Hunters Point  Wednesday April 20th @ SF State 4-7pm in Science rm 101.

San Francisco State was the first university in the country to militantly struggle for ethnic and working class emancipation through the development of culturally relevant curriculum.  This collaboration continues this revolutionary agenda by bringing together communities of scholars and hip hop activists who would otherwise remain in isolation by virtue of geography and social context, with students, teachers, and writers, interested in the social forces that have shaped the hip hop generation in America and beyond.

Thursday April 21st Straight Outta Hunters Point will screen as a fundraiser for Ukiah's 105.1 FM KMEC Radio. As part of their Mendocino Environmental Center Earthweek festival. For Info on this event call  707 468 9801
