The AIDS Walk & 5K Run has historically been the AIDS Action Committee's biggest fundraising event. Now in its 20th year, tens of thousands of people have participated in the Walk and have generously raised over $30 million dollars for programs and services of the AAC. AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts, Inc. (AAC) and the Tempting Fate Revue musical group announced "Dance Before You Walk," a dance party to be held on Thursday, May 12, 2005, at Axis on Lansdowne Street in Boston. One hundred percent of ticket and CD sales for the event will go directly to support the 20th Annual AIDS Walk & 5K Run, From All Walks of Life, which will take place on June 5, 2005. Tickets are $20.00 in advance and available at http://www.teapartyconcerts.com. Proceeds from the first-ever gig of the Tempting Fate Revue last month raised over $3,000. The group seeks to double that figure to benefit the AIDS Walk. The Tempting Fate Revue is a writing, production and performance group dedicated to developing original music, raising money for worthy charities and providing an exciting band and showcase for a rotating group of unsigned singers. Based in Boston, the group includes a Grammy® winner, a John Lennon Songwriting Contest award finalist, two Berklee College of Music professors, a pair of studio owner production wizards, an anchor vocalist and five songwriters in all. The May 12th show will feature vocalists Nicole Jones; 21-year old Lucas Madrazo; Darnell Clark; and Fee Feehan and Rabihah "Ruby" Shabazz, the hip-hop duo known as One Love. Tempting Fate Revue founder Frank Ingari was a co-founder, with his wife Margaret Sullivan, of Everybody's Business, a fundraising event that over eight years raised more than $2 million for the AIDS Action Committee on expenses of less than three percent. |
