It's easy for celebrities to fall into the freebie trap. Designers want them to wear their gowns and expensive jewels to showy events so they can get their names mentioned, while car companies even provide high-profile stars keys to high-end wheels for a few months in hopes they''ll eventually buy. But the latest celebrity freebie isn''t one that's offered, but what some business folks are calling downright rude. More and more, stars take it upon themselves to get food, goods and services for free, even if the business on the other end isn''t offering. The most recent display came from west coast gangsta rap artist and actor Ice-T, who ran up a hefty bill at a club in Los Angeles last week, according to the New York Post. He and his large entourage were guzzling Cristal champagne and Stoli vodka and rang up a tab to the tune of about $2,400. The report said the rap artist assumed he was getting the booze for free. When one of the people in Ice-T's entourage realized the mix up, they went back to pay but the charge card was declined. The club was planning on sending an invoice, the newspaper said. |
