Hip-hop culture icon and rap recording mogul, Marion ‘Suge’ Knight will be appearing in an L.A. bankruptcy court room today (Friday) to answer about his finances. The hip-hop icon is in court to give answers on his finances to a bankruptcy trustee because he filed Chapter 11 to protect his empire of Death Row Records from being raped due to a lawsuit that was brought against him; where Lydia Harris and her ex-husband, an incarcerated drug dealer – Michael ‘Harry O’ Harris, had secured a judgment against the hip-hop / rap record mogul, Mr. Marion ‘Suge’ Knight, for $107 million dollars claiming that they helped Suge start the notorious gangsta rap label with ‘seed’ money. After being treated as the ‘hood bank’ by many artists and anyone else who could figure a way into Suge Knights’ pockets, it is not hard to understand how this could happen. Marion ‘Suge’ Knight says he is broke and today will answer to his creditors. The hip-hop icon Marion Suge Knights Death Row Records is the home of classic music from hip-hop and rap legends the likes of the late hip-hop icon rap artist Tupac Shakur (2Pac), ex Ruthless Records label and ex Death Row label rapper and producer Dr. Dre, the legendary Snoop Dogg and many many others. Marion Suge Knight built one of the biggest black owned money making businesses and the biggest black owned record label since Motown Records. He took a little label and ran with the majors – he became a major. *Photo Credit - |
