The Bob Marley Movement of Jah People will host the 12th Annual Bob Marley Caribbean Festival and Food Drive on Saturday, February 26, 2005 at Bayfront Park Amphitheater, Downtown Miami, FL, to help spread the message of peace, love and unity. The gates open at 1pm and the theme for 2005 is “Pass it On”. The Bob Marley Movement brings this explosive festival to South Florida, with live performances from A-list celebrities from the reggae and soca industry. This dynamic concert line -up will include heavyweight artists such as, The Marley Brothers(Grammy winner Damian Marley, Grammy Nominated Ziggy Marley, Stephen Marley and Kymani Marley (the Doctor of Reggae) and rap / reggae artists Beenie Man and (The Energy God) Elephant Man. This energetic event promises to build a cultural bridge between people of all ethnic backgrounds. The Bob Marley Caribbean Festival offers an opportunity for people to share and appreciate the Caribbean heritage and legacy through music, art, crafts and cuisine, along with a main stage of intoxicating entertainment. In addition to being an entertaining festival, the event will also provide food for homeless shelters. The can food collection will benefit the hurricane victims of the Caribbean and Food for the Poor non-profit organization. As a cultural organization The Bob Marley Movement of Jah People is committed to cultivating and maintaining the heritage of Bob Marley and his mission. The festival has collected over 1 Million canned goods and raised over $300,000. The food and money collected have been distributed over the years to assist people infected with HIV/Aids, homeless shelters, organizations that assist with job placements, housing assistance, school placement for at risk students and more.
