Two Hip Hop Notables Arrested on Weapons Charges. Hip hop notable Prodigy, (born as Albert Johnson) half of the hip hop group Mobb Deep and Cali hip hop beat-maker The Alchemist (born as Alan Maman), who got his start as a member of the Latin hip hop group Cypress Hill affiliates The Whooliganz; were arrested yesterday in New York. After being stopped by NY police for a moving traffic violation in the Chelsea section of New York, police found a small caliber handgun in the vehicle. Both of the hip hop notables, Prodigy and The Alchemist, were arrested and charged with criminal possession of a hand gun.
According to news reports both were released on bail and no trial date has been set. |
