The award winning documentary provides an eye opening & unwavering look at the history and ongoing problems in this troubled community. There is no admission fee, but patrons are welcome to donate what they can to the survivors fund for the family of our friend & former patron Charles Baker, a recent victim of sensless gun violence in the Bayview. Charles, was one of Sadie's livelier patrons over the years, had numerous friends in the city, and his life was tragically ended last week in a senseless shooting in the Bayview. We''ll be hosting this event as a memorial & passing the hat to raise some funds for his children. We''ll have a large screen projection of the film and afterwards we will play some of his favorite funky tunes, and raise a toast of Madras'', one of Charles fave cocktail concoctions. He was shot Monday May 9 as he stood talking to his landlord at 4 pm on a porch at Kirkwood & Mendell. Gun shots apparently intended for another man hit Baker, and he was mortally wounded in the back of the head. He leaves behind many loved ones including two adopted sons ages, 9 and 5. Police have made no arrests and a $10,000 reward has been posted for anyone who can provide information leading to an arrest & conviction.
