Lisa ''Left Eye'' Lopes
The life of the late hip-hop / rap artist, of the group TLC; Lisa ''Left Eye'' Lopes is set to be chronicled in a new TV movie. The "No Scrubs" rapper, who died in 2002 at the age of 30 in a car accident in Honduras, made headlines in 1994 when she set fire to the home of her then-boyfriend Andre Rison. And although she was considered the most controversial member of the group - which included Tionne ''T-Boz'' Watkins and Rozonda ''Chilli'' Thomas - Edmonds Entertainment boss Tracey Edmonds hopes to show all facets of the star's life. Edmonds, wife of producer Kenneth ''Babyface'' Edmonds, says, "The script is really, really good, and we''re clearing the music right now." "It's going to be a really fascinating story to tell, not only because of the stuff you read in the headlines, but Lisa had a really spiritual side to her, which is what brought her out to Honduras, where she unfortunately ended up having the traffic accident." "She was just a little rebel, and we''ll get to kind of see why she was the way she was." |
