Sony Urban/Columbia Records will release Weapons Of Mass Destruction, the

avidly-awaited new album from the hip-hop superstar/cultural icon, Xzibit, on

Tuesday, December 14.

The perfect stocking stuffer, and last minute gift idea, for hip-hop, rap

and urban music fans, Weapons Of Mass Destruction is Xzibit's first

full-length studio outing since his #1 Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart-topping

Man vs. Machine was released in 2002.

A true hip-hop underdog from the Los Angeles underground, Xzibit is

rapidly becoming a household name based on the strength of his witty and

charismatic persona.  Currently in its second season, Xzibit's "Pimp My Ride"

has become one of MTV's most successful original series ever.  He can

currently be seen leaping out of an airplane in a wildly imaginative

commercial spot for Right Guard Xtreme and has two new movies in the works:

"XXX2," the sequel to the Vin Diesel blockbuster featuring Samuel L. Jackson,

Willem DaFoe and Ice Cube, and "Derailed," co-starring Jennifer Aniston.

At the end of the 20th century, Xzibit established his reputation as one

of the most potent forces in West Coast hip-hop with his albums At the Speed

of Life (1996) and 40 Dayz & 40 Nightz (1998). The Dr. Dre-produced Restless

(2000) -- featuring guest artists Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and Dre himself -- was

Xzibit's hip-hop manifesto for the new millennium. Xzibit's riveting

performances were among the highlights of 2000's historic Up In Smoke tour,

which also featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Ice Cube.

Xzibit was one of the featured performers on Eminem's historic Anger

Management Tour, sharing bills with Eminem, Ludacris, Papa Roach, and Xzibit's

Loud/Columbia labelmates, the X-Ecutioners.

Weapons of Mass Destruction, is one of the most eagerly-anticipated

releases of 2004.
