Breakdown FM: The Clipse Return:Time to Re-up in ''06 by Davey D

We sat down with Virginia’s hip-hop prodigal sons, rap duo The Clipse and talked to them about their long hiatus from the hip-hop music scene. It had been a good 4 or 5 years since they last delivered an album.

The Clipse explained to Davey D that they got caught up in record label politics. Some of it involved the merger between Sony and BMG. The other involved a feud between Jive Records and Pharrel of the Neptunes. For those who don’t know the Clipse are signed with the Neptunes.

The group kept themselves in the hip-hop and rap mix by releasing mixtapes, but now they are ready to return and drop a new album later this summer called ‘Hell Has No Fury’.

Peep out this interview and hear what these two hip-hop brothers have to say about Hip Hop in VA, the rationale behind their ‘pusherman themes and why its important to keep it lyrical.

Listen to the Breakdown FM interview by Davey D below and also hear a few fresh hip-hop joints from The Clipse.
