Hip hop artist Snoop Dogg has escaped a jail term, again, after he pleaded no contest to charges of sale or transportation of marijuana and possession of a gun.
The hip hop rap artist, whose real name is Calvin Broadus, was given a three years suspended sentence and handed five years of probation by a Pasadena California courtroom yesterday. The hip hop artist will also perform 900 hours of community service, but he can serve half of the hours working with the youth American football team that he owns.
This all came about when the hip hop star Snoop Dogg was arrested by the Burbank Police Dept. at Bob Hope Airport in Burbank, late in October on suspicion of transportation of a controlled substance, and then authorities later discovered a gun at the hip hop artists’ residence during a search.
The lawyer for the hip hop artist, Donald Etra says "He (Snoop) recognizes the severity of this. He recognizes he got a great a deal and he fully intends to make sure nothing prohibits him from keeping his part of the bargain."
We will see.
