PEACEBoston, a movement that was created by members of the Hip Hop community, youth workers and youth in December 2005 in Boston, MA.; is dropping their compilation album titled ‘Peace in the Streets''.

The album will debut on Mother's Day (May 11, 2008) at the Louis D. Brown's Twelfth Annual Mother's Walk for Peace.

Featuring cuts from some of Boston's most prominent hip hop and spoken word veterans and up-and-coming artists, PEACEBoston hopes to amplify their mission of peace promotions and community healing.

Artists are contributing their own songs to the project, which also includes three commissioned pieces. "The P.O.P." (The Power of the Perfume) speaks to young women, engaging them to help address violence issues. Veteran hip hop MC and spoken word artist Lisa Lee, Julez Kamilion, Mystyque, Letia Larok, and Kiki Breevlife grace the song.

Krumbsnatcha offers reasons why it's imporant to be sure that kids see their "21st Birthday", which is dedicated to the late cousin of PEACEBoston Founder Cindy Diggs, who lost his life to violence.

"The 10 Bean Commandments" is a beckoning by a team of top hip hop artists - Frankie Wainwright, Jaysaun, Krumbsnatcha, Lou Armstrong, Mr. Harvey, and Tangg the Juice and featuring narrations by Big CEO Red - about the code of the streets from a violence prevention stance; which has not been passed down to young people for some time.

The PEACEBoston crew will make its first public appearance to announce the project on April 19th, 2008 at The Third Annual Dance for Peace, Celebrity Beantown Bounce; a dance competition at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center, 1350 Tremont Street in Roxbury. One of the event founders is a Street Worker who promotes peace through intervention and prevention with young people throughout the city of Boston. Last year's winners of the Beantown Bounce Junior Division were Seekers of Knowledge. The Senior Division winners were MTV America's Best Dance Crew finalists, Status Quo.
