Two of the most provocative and compelling films by Oscar® nominated writer-director Spike Lee will be released on DVD February 1, 2005 to commemorate the illustrious filmmaker during Black History month.

SCHOOL DAZE, Lee's second film, a 1988 classic that hilariously explores intra-racial divides at an all black college will be released as a special collector's edition. SHE HATE ME, his most recent work, a provocative look at corporate corruption, will also be released by Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

SCHOOL DAZE, lauded in 1988 by The New York Times as the work of a brave, original and prodigious talent delivers a hilarious musical comedy set at an all-black college. Introducing the talented Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix, Mystic River), and Tisha Campbell (TV's Martin , My Wife and Kids), the film examines the intra-racial divide and controversy rife on a college campus during one homecoming weekend. The two-pack DVD is a fun-filled return to campus featuring the driving beats of the CD Soundtrack, including EU's chart topping hit "Da Butt", music videos with dance numbers choreographed by Otis Sallid (Fame), cast commentary, audio commentary by writer-director Spike Lee, plus, three featurettes. The DVD, a classic hit, will carry a suggested retail price of $19.94.

SHE HATE ME, Spike Lee's latest film, a searing indictment of corporate corruption pits a whistleblower against the establishment to examine America's attitude towards morality and ethics from the boardroom to the bedroom. Praised for its passionate delivery and comedic overtones, it underscores Lee's role as one of the most masterful filmmakers of our time. As Graham Fuller wrote in the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS, no filmmaker in the last twenty years has so consistently taken the temperature of the times as Spike Lee.

SHE HATE ME boasts a stellar cast, including Anthony Mackie (8 Mile, The Manchurian Candidate), Kerry Washington (Ray, Against the Ropes), Ellen Barkin (The Big Easy), Monica Bellucci (Malena, Matrix 2 & 3), Jim Brown (Any Given Sunday), Brian Dennehy (F/X), Bai Ling (Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow), John Turturro (Secret Window), musician Q-Tip (A Tribe Called Quest) and Woody Harrelson (After the Sunset).

The SHE HATE ME DVD offers movie fans new content and bonus features including, deleted scenes, a behind-the-scenes featurette and a special director's commentary by Spike Lee.

A 40 Acres and Mule Filmworks Production, SHE HATE ME is written by Michael Genet and Spike Lee, based on a story by Genet. The film is directed by Spike Lee and produced by Lee, Preston Holmes and Fernando Sulichin.
