Young Rap Artist Turk Gets 10 Yrs Print

Although hip-hop rap artist Turk; AKA "Tab Virgil" of the hip-hop group Hot Boys fame is being held in a maximum security prison in Tennessee on charges of attempted murder of a Memphis deputy sheriff; yesterday he was sentenced to 10 years in prison. The sentencing came after being convicted of three weapons charges stemming from a January 2004 incident. The young rap artist was convicted in August on charges of being a felon, a drug addict, and a fugitive with a handgun. He was also fined 200 thousand dollars.

The once famous rap artist is still facing an attempted murder charge in Tennessee state court, but it is being reported that his lawyers are trying to negotiate a guilty plea to avoid the locked down rapper from going to trial.
