Proposals are being accepted for workshops, forums, academic papers, exhibits, documentary film screenings, addresses, seminars, and other events of educational and motivational value to be featured at the first Hip Hop Journalism Association Conference Jul. 26-30 at Miami’s Hotel Intercontinental.

The Hip Hop Journalism Association is a young Greensboro, N.C.-based, not-for-profit professional society organizing to establish integrity in hip hop journalism.

In addition to its exposition, the conference will be characterized by a convention of news media professionals, scholars, students, educators, and documentary filmmakers who will deliberate and adopt a biennial platform on establishing ethics and integrity in hip hop journalism.

Hence, successful proposal submissions must cover aspects of the organization’s commitment and work toward uplifting hip hop journalism standards.

Complimentary travel and hotel accommodations will be provided by the Hip-Hop Journalism Association for presenters of event proposals accepted.

Mail proposals, copies of academic papers, and screener copies of films to Hip Hop Journalism Association, Conference Program Committee, c/o Brian C. Sims, Ph.D., P.O. Box 13422, Greensboro, NC 27415, Questions on what proposals should contain can be answered at the organization’s post office box or at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
