Female hip-hop rap diva Lil'' Kim has hit back at the songwriters who claim the rapper owes them cash, branding their allegations "malicious and frivolous".

On April 28, the troubled hip-hop star was hit with a $100,000 lawsuit by Anthony Jeffries and Vincent Hart, who claimed they had not been paid for work they''d done on one of her previous albums.

But L Londell McMillan, a lawyer for the star, says in a statement: "The lawsuit is malicious and frivolous. Both of these individuals signed written agreements and were paid in full by Atlantic Records. They are now looking to undo the agreement and extract additional sums from Lil'' Kim.

"We will vindicate her legal rights in this matter. In addition, Lil'' Kim and her representatives have never made any threats to anyone. These allegations are absurd."

The NY hip-hop rapper, real name Kimberly Jones, is currently awaiting sentencing on a separate perjury charge.
