Bad Boy Records CEO and rap artist Sean "P. Diddy" Combs'' former business partner Kirk Burrowes is going to jail after pleading guilty to obstruction of justice.

Kirk Burrowes, 42, confessed to removing evidence from his Harlem home hours before federal agents raided his home as part of a drug-money laundering probe.

Mr. Burrowes knew about the imminent search because he had spoken to authorities earlier that day about the grand-jury investigation.

"Regrettably, I removed my diary notebook from my apartment in advance of a search coming through later that day," Mr. Burrowes told Manhattan federal Judge Shirley Wohl Kram.

Under the plea deal, Mr. Burrowes is expected to serve 10 to 16 months in prison under sentencing guidelines.

Mr. Burrowes was president of P. Diddy Combs'' Bad Boy Entertainment for three years. And he is the godfather to one of P Diddys'' sons. But the two had a major falling out.

Mr. Burrowes filed a federal lawsuit against hip-hop mogul P Diddy in 2003, making fantastic claims. Mr. Burrowes alleged that P Diddy forced him to relinquish his stake in Bad Boy by threatening him with a baseball bat. He also implicated P Diddy in the murder of late west coast rap icon Tupac Shakur. But the suit was tossed out.
