Infamous hip-hop rap artist and producer Andre Young – aka - Dr. Dre has donated $1 million to Houston's Julia C. Hester House. The Julia C. Hester House is an organization that assists homeless people. Fifty families affected by Hurricane Katrina will split the money. "I wanted to be sure that my donation did two things: went directly into the hands of hurricane victims and that it was an amount that could really impact their lives and make a difference," Dre said in a statement Many hip-hop and rap artists, along with many entertainers and celebrities from all genres of the entertainment field, have stepped up to help those in need after the Katrina hurricane devastation. |
