Hip hop notables, The Core DJs, have announced the names of the Jam Master Jay/Core DJs Award recipients. The lists of honorees represent an elite group of industry movers and shakers who have helped mold not only the Hip Hop world, but music as a whole.

The awards will be presented during the Core DJ’s Retreat V in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at Compound, 1008 Brady Avenue from 6pm – 10pm.

In its three-year existence, the Core DJs are quickly becoming one of the most recognizable hip hop DJ coalitions in the nation. Founded by Tony Neal, the Core DJs have an extensive roster of club and radio DJ’s including hip hop favorables’ Clinton Sparks, DJ Green Lantern, Big Tigger and the Miami Heat’s Official DJ- DJ Irie.

The Core DJ’s Retreat V is presented by So So Def Records and sponsored by SoBe Records, Virgin Records, Atlantic Records, Down Magazine, The Source Magazine, Meezan Apparel, Makaveli Branded and more. The Core DJs Retreat V will take place August 17-20, 2006 in Atlanta, Ga.
