The Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards will be held January 14, 2007 at the Downtown Hilton Hotel. The Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards plans to bring the Hip Hop Community together Pittsburgh's hip hop community will never be the same after January 2007. It will be changed – but in a good way. On Jan 14, 2007, The Pittsburgh Hip Hop Awards will be the largest gathering of the Hip Hop community from Pittsburgh and the surrounding areas ever. It will be held at The Downtown Pittsburgh Hilton Hotel Grand Ballroom and will be a Star Studded Affair! Doors open at 6pm, Showtime is at 7pm. All guests will arrive and walk The Red Carpet lined with Videographers and Interviewers, then enter into the Grand Ballroom for what will be known as "The Hip Hop Event of the Year!" The PHHA is here to award those Legends, Current MC's and others involved with the Hip Hop community and let them know that Pittsburgh is paying attention. Awards will be given out based on the already over 1,500 nominations that have been submitted, by the community, on its official web site www.PittsburghHipHopAwards.com There are over 20 categories in which to submit nominations for, which include categories such as: Lyricist of the Year, Best Female Rap Artist, Best Male Rap Artist, Best Group or Duo, Best Producer, Best B-Boy, and more. Awards will be given away by Local Personalities and Musicians. All finalists will be in attendance and the winner will be announced to all for the first time at the Hilton! The winners will be based on the amount of votes you receive and not the opinions of PHAA or affiliates. Advance tickets are $20 for general admission, $100 VIP reserved seats, and $900 for a VIP table of 10 (groups or labels).
