The heart & soul of African-American expression and home to progressive black men and women in the visual arts and entertainment industry—is this year’s location for the 2005 Independent Black Film Festival, March 3-6, 2005.

In its second year, IBFF is a four-day multicultural festival which aspires to entertain and educate the urban audience boasting features, shorts and documentaries, panel discussions and screenplay readings. IBFF was born from the need to provide alternative platforms to promote and showcase multicultural films through a competitive showcase of diverse and provocative features, documentaries, shorts, screenplays and film scores. This event will unite those who create films with film buyers and distributors. African-Americans in the film, music and animation/gaming industry will be provided a platform to promote their creative talents and abilities.

Asante Addae, Festival Director of IBFF, hopes to bring “Black Hollywood” to “Hotlanta.” “Atlanta is a viable cutting-edge market and we want to be present and accounted for. Our ‘Convergence Festival’ is to honor Artists defining the new scope of visual and audio entertainment in the 21st century.
