Facing 3 years in prison if convicted of possession of a deadly weapon, hip hop artist Snoop Dogg pleaded not guilty to the charge yesterday in Orange County Superior Court.

Although the hip hop notable was not in attendance at the hearing, his lawyer filed the rap artists not guilty plea and Snoop remains out on bail.

This charge against the hip hop artist is from an incident at John Wayne Airport where screeners found a collapsible baton (illegal in California) in Snoops luggage. Snoop says it was a prop for a hip hop video.

Snoop is still waiting to hear if charges will be filed against him on his two other arrests. One arrest was in October for marijuana and a firearm and in November for a firearm, cocaine, marijuana and having a phony compartment in his vehicle.

At this time no new court date was given.
