Controversial hip hop and rap entrepreneur Marion ‘Suge’ Knight was born on this day, April 19, 1965 in Compton, California.

The hip hop mogul is responsible for building one of the largest hip hop and rap record labels in history. As owner of Death Row Records, Marion ‘Suge’ Knight is responsible for bringing hip hop and rap artists, the likes of hip hop icon Tupac Shakur (2Pac), Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Lady of Rage, Dr. Dre, Crooked I, Nate Dogg, the Dogg Pound and many many others to the masses – helping to launch their careers.

Marion ‘Suge’ Knights Death Row Records filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year, which allows a company to continue business operations while restructuring.

Marion ‘Suge’ Knights PR Rep Jonathan Wolfson has told www.ThugLifeArmy.com that “Suge is trying to file a Chapter 7 in order to liquidate his publishing. He's fine with Death Row being restructured through a Chapter 11. It's his publishing ownership that he wants to liquidate in order to pay off Death Row's debts and move on with his life.”

The hip hop mogul has proven in the past after building Funky Enough Records and Futureshock Records and then Death Row Records, that he knows the music industry and how to get things done.
