The jury in the wrongful death lawsuit of late hip-hop rap artist Notorious B.I.G. was sent home early on Friday so defense lawyers could investigate the newest ‘tip’ from a unknown tipster.

U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper sent the nine-person jury home early Friday and has a hearing planned for today (Monday June 27^th) to discuss this latest ‘tipster’ revelation.

The week ahead will be interesting for the lawsuit trial. There are sure to be more witnesses called, but there is one witness we will not get to hear.

FBI agent Philip J. Carson will not testify in the lawsuit and Mr. Carson has been ordered to have no further discussions with the lawyers according to The Los Angeles Times back on 3-11-05.

The FBI had closed its investigation into the 1997 murder of rap star Notorious B.I.G., abandoning the theory that a rogue police officer may have been involved in the slaying.

The FBI had spent 18 months investigating the possibility that a rogue Los Angeles police officer working with rap mogul and CEO of Death Row Records, Marion "Suge" Knight had orchestrated Notorious B.I.G.'s killing. Marion ‘Suge’ Knight, whose Death Row Records was the label of late rap icon Tupac Shakur, has always denied he had any participation in this.

With most of the defendants dropped from the suit, (even Mack and Muhammad, the main focus of the ‘investigation’); the City of Los Angeles can only wait and see what ‘develops’ this coming week.

Although the FBI could not find any real evidence to support the allegations and theories surrounding the murder of Notorious B.I.G. it seems that information was not passed along to Russell Poole who’s allegations and theory has formed most of this case.

The hearing in scheduled for Today, (Monday), and there was no time given or any information on when the trial will continue in front of the jury. We can only speculate that will be determined by what is learned in the hearing on the new tip.

On June 23rd U.S. District Judge Florence-Marie Cooper had ordered family members to prove that Mack arranged the Wallace killing before they can proceed with their suit.
