Too Short, or Too $hort, aka Short Dog aka Todd Anthony Shaw was born in Los Angeles, California. Too $hort is a rap artist who started his career in Oakland, California. Through his music, Too $hort has cultivated a persona of a no-nonsense pimp, and is widely credited for popularizing pimp culture in hip hop, along with fellow rap artists Ice T and Slick Rick. Too $hort is now based in Atlanta, Georgia. Too $hort relocated from Oakland to Atlanta, but he still represents his Oakland roots.

In the mid 1980s Too $hort teamed up with close friends hip-hop gangsta rap artist Ice Cube and producer Ant Banks to create several ‘classic’ hip-hop  records. Becoming an icon in the hip-hop culture with a huge rap fan base all total, Too $hort has 21 releases on major labels over the years.

Too $hort has worked with many of hip-hop and rap music’s icon’s. From 2Pac (Tupac) to Ice Cube, E-40, Daz Dillinger, Soopafly and the list goes on. In hip-hop real recognizes real and Too $hort is the real deal.
